John McIntosh (Sales Consultant), age 50,
had a successful career
in software engineering management where he was Vice President of Engineering for
Conner Peripherals’ Software Division and founding General Manager of Arcada Software.
He also managed a group of over 150 software-oriented support personnel providing
customer support world-wide. John has Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude) and
Master of Science degrees, both in Computer Science from West Coast University in
Orange, California. He has taught renewable energy concepts and design at Central
Oregon Community College in Bend.
John became a licensed real estate broker in Central Oregon, providing customers
with advice on green development and the proper valuation and resale of energy
efficient buildings in Central Oregon. His focus on the environment led him to
design and build a state-of-the-art, passive off-grid solar home. John subsequently
started a renewable energy contracting firm (passive solar design, solar hot water, and
photovoltaics) in Central Oregon to share that experience with others. In that capacity,
his objective was meeting customer demands and expectations on renewable energy project
jobsites. He is an active member of the Redmond community and has participated on the
boards of Redmond United Way and Redmond Kiwanis. John is a board member of the Oregon
Solar Energy Industries Association and was President of this organization in 2006.
